Keep the Ban demonstration: January 23rd.

Keep the Ban demonstration: January 23rd.

This message is sent to invite you to travel to Richmond with other Roanoke area residents to participate in a Keep the Ban demonstration on the grounds of the Virginia General Assembly Building on Monday, January 23rd.

While in Richmond, you are encouraged to meet with your state elected officials to urge them to keep the ban on uranium mining in Virginia -- permanently.

MEETING WITH DELEGATE CHRIS HEAD

We got an appointment with Delegate Chris Head for Monday, Jan. 23 at 10:45 a.m. We would like to organize one or two carloads of people from Mr. Head's district in the Roanoke area to meet with him.

MEETING WITH ANOTHER DELEGATE OR SENATOR

If you are not in Mr. Head's district but would like to attend on the 23rd, you are encouraged to make an appointment with your senator or delegate as soon as possible and carpool with us.

BE THE YELLOWCAKE

Or, you can simply come to Richmond and participate in the Keep the Ban demonstration that is scheduled to occur outside the General Assembly Building at around 11:30 a.m. on the 23rd. If you plan to participate in the demonstration, please wear a yellow scarf or bring/wear something big and yellow.

We want to remind our elected officials of a big pile of yellowcake!

CITIZEN LOBBY DAY

If, while you are in Richmond, you would like to participate in Va. Conservation Network's Citizen Lobby Day ($30 fee) on Jan. 23rd, you may register at:

http://vcn.citizen-networks.org/site/Calendar/2069090898?view=Detail&id=101502. Participation in Citizen Lobby Day, which begins at 8 a.m., provides discussion of conservation issues, training on how to lobby, and breakfast and lunch.

It is not necessary to register for or participate in Citizen Lobby Day if all you want to do is visit your elected officials and/or participate in the Keep the Ban demonstration.

If you would like to participate in any of the above, please call or email me and I'll put your name on the carpool list.
