7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Join us for HOT WATER in Richmond!

Uranium mining proponents are waging a battle to repeal Virginia's 30-year ban on uranium mining. HOT WATER, which explores the contamination of the ground water, air, and soil of the American Southwest with some of the most toxic substances known to man due to the mining of uranium, is a harrowing preview of what could be in store for Virginia if the ban is lifted.

With the water supply of roughly 1.2 million people at stake, filmmakers Lizabeth Rogers and Kevin Flint traveled to Virginia to film the fight of citizens to defend their homes for a special extended version of the film.
WHEN: Tuesday, November 12, 2013, 7:00 pm
WHERE: Byrd Theatre, 2908 W Cary St Richmond, VA 23221
Come out at 6:30 pm before the screening to see producer Lizabeth Rogers and the Virginia "stars" of the film walk the red carpet and host a press conference to discuss the implications of uranium mining in Virginia.
RSVP below today! (There is no ticket fee, but $5 is the suggested contribution to help us continue our crucial work to protect the moratorium on uranium mining.)
Presented by the Keep the Ban Coalition, Roanoke River Basin Association, We the People of Virginia, and the Virginia Chapter of the Sierra Club.
The Keep the Ban Coalition is committed to retaining Virginia’s longstanding statutory ban on the mining of uranium in the Commonwealth. The documentary HOT WATER is an independent film production that addresses a number of other aspects of the uranium fuel cycle and does not necessarily reflect the views of the Coalition or of its individual members.
