Meeting: Citizens of Pittsylvania will join together to thank the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors for its support of the moratorium on uranium mining

Dear Deborah,

Next week, citizens of Pittsylvania will join together to thank the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors for its support of the moratorium on uranium mining. From submitting letters to the local paper to proposing ordinance changes as a safeguard against mining even if the ban is lifted, members of the board have been staunchly opposed to uranium mining in Virginia.

We need your presence at next week's meeting with Keep the Ban stickers and t-shirts to show support for the Board's stance on this crucial issue!

What:  Citizens of Pittsylvania will join together to thank the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors for its support of the moratorium on uranium mining

WHEN: Tuesday, November 19, 7:00 pm

WHERE: General District Courtroom of the Edwin R. Shields Courthouse Addition in Chatham

Over the last few years, we've spent 3 million dollars on studies that have found that mining would be a significant threat to drinking water, public health, and local economies. Left behind would be huge volumes of radioactive and toxic waste, which has been linked to leukemia, kidney disease, and health problems for centuries in Virginia.

Click here to thank and encourage the Board to continue its strong support, and then come out next Tuesday, November 19, to show the Board your appreciation!

Thank you for all you do, and we hope to see you there!
