Piedmont Residents In Defense of the Environment (PRIDE) has been selected to receive a $3000.00 mini-grant from the Western Mining Action Network (WMAN) and the Indigenous Environmental Network (IEN) for the "Keep the Ban" (KTB) Billboard Campaign to fight uranium mining.

Piedmont Residents In Defense of the Environment (PRIDE) was recently selected to receive a $1000.00 mini-grant from the Center for Health, Environment and Justice (CHEJ).
CHEJ executive director, Lois M. Gibbs stated,
"CHEJ commends you and your valuable work; your organization was highly recommended to receive this mini-grant."

PRIDE launched the first annual KTB Billboard Campaign in the Spring of 2013 and has installed two billboards in Pittsylvania County to bring awareness to the uranium issue and encourage Virginia residents to visit http://keeptheban.org to access information.

"The awards enable us to fund the KTB billboard project. More importantly the awards represent support from organizations which have worked directly with contaminated communities and environmental justice issues. They know what we stand to lose if mining, milling and radioactive waste disposal occurs in Virginia. They also realize we have the opportunity to prevent this from happening" reports PRDE president Karen B. Maute.

You may donate to the KTB Billboard Campaign by mailing your 100% tax-deductible donation to PRIDE, P.O. Box 11521, Danville, VA 24543-1521.
PRIDE is a chapter of the Blue Ridge Environmental Defense League.
