HALIFAX — We the People of Virginia will screen the documentary “Hot Water” at Halifax County High School on July 13 at 7 p.m.

We the People of Virginia spokesperson Sarah Dunavant said the film shows the “devastation that has already happened out west” from uranium mining.

“This is Hollywood coming to Southside,” Dunavant said.

“This is a very graphic, poignant, emotional film.”

The filmmakers are expected to host a question and answer period after the film, Dunavant said.

The Sierra Club, Keep the Ban, and Roanoke River Basin Association are cosponsoring the event.
