For the last 30 years, we have been protected by Virginia’s 30-year ban on uranium mining. This ban has kept dangerous chemicals and radioactive waste out of our communities and our environment.

Unfortunately, the uranium industry is trying to overturn our ban. They are lobbying state legislators, making campaign contributions and have even paid for legislators’ expensive trips to France. If the uranium industry succeeds, our drinking water, public health, farmland, and wildlife will all be at risk.
The good news is that they can’t overturn the ban without the support of the Virginia General Assembly. We know that some legislators remain undecided. They need to know that citizens in their districts care about protecting Virginia's natural and economic resources. Let's show them public support from across the commonwealth.
