According to the US EPA, the impact area for radon exposure that causes lung cancer encompasses a 50 mile radius around the site. 

 

The water needed to supply water to those who lost their wells due to groundwater contamination, a pervasive problem at uranium sites, will come from UPSTREAM.

Your well may dry up due to mine dewatering regardless of where you live, upstream or downstream.

Water needed for the site clean up will too be withdrawn from upstream.
