The Virginia Coal and Energy Commission’s Uranium Mining Subcommittee: email from a SO CALL VA Website with French backing?

Comment:  People of Virginia, this company or web site is the enemy to Virginia.  They did not mention anything about protecting Virginia from uranium mining if it is unsafe, it just says Southside need jobs,  NOTICE THIS Virginia Energy Independence Alliance,  GO BACK TO FRANCE AND DRINK YOUR DIRTY URANIUM MINE AND NUKE RIVERS!  ISFrance
 chasing Virginia's uranium, now look at the letter below and notice Mr. -Ray Ganthner, Chairman, Virginia Energy Independence Alliance and
Ray Ganthner, Senior Vice President, New Plants Deployment, AREVA NP Inc. (are they the same man, according to the link it seems so)  So again, is Virginia Energy Independence Alliance really the French?  Are the French scared (maybe not honest) to admit they are chasing Virginia's uranium mining and our Governor is supporting them?  No to Uranium Mining! PEOPLE OF VIRGINIA, WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE, THE NUKES ARE PUSHING FOR URANIUM MINING!

Mark your calendar!

The Virginia Coal and Energy Commission’s Uranium Mining Subcommittee will hold a public meeting on June 22 at 6 p.m. at Chatham High School to discuss the study that will explore uranium mining and milling’s socioeconomic impacts. The public will comment during the meeting on the scope of the socioeconomic study.

Anyone unable to attend the meeting can call House Committee Operations at (804) 698-3591, or contact William L. Owen at bowen@house.virginia.gov

Don’t miss this important opportunity to weigh in on how this study can highlight the potential for job creation and economic initiative in Southside Virginia. This will be an important step in making Virginia the energy capital of the east coast!

Subject: A Letter from the Chairman

Dear VEIA Members,

During the last three weeks I have had the opportunity to be in meetings where Governor McDonnell spoke about energy and Virginia's future. On each occasion, he made compelling remarks which demonstrated his passion and his drive toward making Virginia the "Energy Capital of the East Coast."

His theme is that Virginia has the resources and the workforce to make a significant contribution to the availability of affordable domestic energy. He specifically mentions Virginia's resources that exist offshore (wind, oil, and gas) as well as the national level of expertise in commercial nuclear engineering and manufacturing.  Governor McDonnell strongly supports a multitude of energy applications (conservation, efficiency, biomass, solar) which today only provide about 3% of Virginia's energy.

Fortunately for Virginia, the General Assembly has supported the same general concepts and has accomplished several things in the session just ended. They:

Made it the policy of Virginia to support offshore oil and gas exploration on leases under the US Department of the Interior;

Established a tax credit for creating alternative energy jobs;

Required state public bodies to procure only diesel fuel containing, at a minimum, two percent, by volume, biodiesel fuel or green diesel fuel;

Created the Virginia Offshore Wind Development Authority to facilitate and support the development of wind-powered electric energy;

Instituted a tax incentive for new businesses; and

Established a foundation to assist entrepreneurs in green energy.

All these efforts are coming together, under Governor McDonnell's leadership, to make Virginia more energy independent and to develop the resources (Ace comment:  double talk for uranium mining) that exist in the physical sense as well as those that can be envisioned and designed in the mind of Virginia's citizens.
