Uranium skepticism warranted

RE "EXPERTS URGE caution over uranium mining,"

Hampton Roads,

I found it interesting that Patrick Wales, spokesman for Virginia Uranium Inc., stated that strict regulations and improved technologies would be enough to protect the environment and the watershed drinking supplies from his company's proposed Pittsylvania County extractions.

Isn't that the same argument that was given regarding the use of coal fly ash?

I do not believe that the folks living next to that Chesapeake golf course share the same confidence as Wales when it comes to protecting water supplies or the environment.

Some things are better left alone.
