Davis responds to Bill Stanley's false claims (about uranium mining)
Comment: No to uranium mining and milling, Vote for Mr. Davis!
Republican Bill Stanley's campaign continues to lie to voters about Hank Davis' position on uranium mining in a recent mailer delivered to voters this weekend.
The mailer says Davis "flip-flopped" on supporting uranium mining in Virginia. Nothing could be further from the truth, said Donny Draper, Davis's campaign manager.
"Hank Davis is the only candidate who is 100 percent against uranium mining in Pittsylvania County," Draper said.
In campaign stump speeches and interviews Stanley has said that he wants to wait until studies are published before he will support uranium mining or not. He has supported uranium mining and has accepted campaign contributions from people who are connected to stakeholders of the uranium mining. Stanley changed his tune early last week when he said he would oppose lifting the moratorium until studies are completed.
"That's hypocritical if you ask me," Davis said. "Why would you oppose uranium mining while taking money from the people who want to contaminate our community? Bill Stanley must be desperate to have changed his mind on the dangers of uranium mining."
