Doctors around the world are coming out against uranium mining saying it can cause cancer and one local activist urges KOTA Territory doctors join the cause.

Charmaine White Face spoke at the 19th World Conference of the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War in Switzerland.

White Face said doctors in KOTA Territory need to join their colleagues from around the world and call for an end to uranium mining.

"South Dakota doctors need to come forward, come more in the open about their opinions about the health of our people here, all the people in this region," White Face said.
