Chatham's Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, Dec. 5, at 11 a.m. on Main Street.
The holiday event, which was revived three years ago, is sponsored by Chatham Volunteer Fire Department and Chatham First.
Chairman Terry Kelly, an assistant chief with the fire department, said more than 60 entries have already signed up for the parade, and more are entering every day.
"The response has been very good," he said.
Chatham High School's 2009 state champion baseball team will be the grand marshal.
Bands from Chatham High School and Hargrave Military Academy will march in the parade, and a number of churches and civic organizations are busy working on Christmas floats, Kelly said.
The parade also will feature local dignitaries, pageant winners, fire and rescue vehicles, classic cars, farm tractors, horses, dogs and, of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus.
The parade will begin at Chatham Presbyterian Church, with entries lining up along North Main Street and down Hurt Street.
Entries are still be accepted.
For more information about the parade, call Kelly at 251-6181 or 432-4221.
