Uranium subcommittee to meet Dec. 8 in Richmond

The Virginia Commission on Coal and Energy 's Uranium Mining Subcommittee will meet Wednesday, Dec. 8, in Richmond to review proposals for a socioeconomic study on uranium mining and milling around the Coles Hill uranium deposit in Pittsylvania County.
The meeting, which is open to the public, will begin at 2:30 p.m. in House Room D of the General Assembly Building.
The subcommittee sought proposals for the study in early October and received six by the Nov. 15 deadline.
Proposals were submitted by AngelouEconomics; Chmura Economics and Analytics; the Center for Regional Analysis, School of Public Policy, George Mason University; Center for Social Science Research, George Mason University; Jack Faucett Associates; and Old Dominion University.
