Comment: The govt did the following: "says it listened to the community concern about the proposed mine." State of Virginia listed to your citizens, we do not want uranium mining in Virginia, do not listen to the Uranium Lobbyist passing out all their monies to Va Leaders! No to uranium mining!

The Northern Territory Government says it tried to contact resources company Cameco before announcing a decision to oppose a uranium mine near Alice Springs.
Chief Minister Paul Henderson announced on Tuesday the Government would oppose the development of a uranium mine on the Angela Pamela deposit, about 20 kilometres south of Alice Springs.
The announcement came as a surprise to Cameco.
The company says it is not clear what this means for the project and future uranium exploration in the Northern Territory.
The Government is facing a by-election on October 9 and it says it listened to the community concern about the proposed mine.
